When I had the idea of creating a blog and posting one book I’ve enjoyed reading with my children each month, I thought I should check the feasibility first. So I took my laptop into my younger daughter’s room, sat down in front of her bookshelves, and starting typing a list of books I might post.
That list currently has 95 entries on it, so I guess it is safe to start this blog. We’re still adding new books to our list, so at this rate, I’ll probably be able to keep the blog going until my daughters- currently 7 and 5 years old- are in college.
Here are the rules for inclusion in my list:
- We’ve read the book
- We liked it
I’ll try to describe each book a bit, and also tell you why we like it. Beyond that, I don’t know. We’ll see how this goes.
I’ll also post occasional other things. The only rule is that the posts will in general be about children’s literature. I’ll always make it clear if I’m post about a book that came to this blog from any method other than being a book my kids and I have read together and liked.
